Q: ok so let's say you order a steak, baked potato and salad with oil and vinegar dressing. how and where in your digestive tract will each of these foods be digested?
A: potato will start in you mouth with you saliva( contains Amylase enzyme, with breaks down poly/di sacchrides into dextrides and monosacchrides), the meat would mainly be in your stomach and small intestines(HCL, pepsin, tripsin) and im not sure about he salad. Prolly your stomach and small intestines as well. Your small intestine is where majority of degestion takes place.
Q: I need to know some ways to change the viscosity of a liquid. I already have temperature, which is an obvious one. There are no sites that help me and I need more then one way. Please help!(grade 8 science)
A: Besides temperature, concentration, and dilution, you could cause a chemical change and form a colloid, or cause a change in the molecular structure of organic molecules.
Q: gahhhh i hate science!anyway, we have to find manuplitive and responding variblies for my question. My question is how many of the barn owls prey are herbivores, omnivores, or carnivores. I neeeeeeeed help.btw, this is 6th grade Advanced Science.and please, no rude comments... i really need help.
A: I'm not sure from the description you've given of your question whether it has any manipulative or responding variables. Here are some links which give examples of experiments which do have manipulative / responding (or sometimes called dependent / independent) variables.http://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project_variables.shtmlhttp://www.ncsu.edu/labwrite/po/independentvar.htmhttp://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:J6gi3jJwNb8J:user.fsd1.org/MeganAMoore/Extra%2520Practice/Process%2520Skills/Variable%2520practice%2520ANSWERS.docIn your case, you have a barn owl and some prey which might be herbivore, omnivore or carnivore, but I can't see what the 'cause and effect' you're trying to measure could be.If your question was something like "Does an owls size depend on its prey" then you could say the manipulative variable would be the prey (look for types of owls with different prey) and the responding variable is the owl's size (are they different sizes when the prey is different?).Can you see how that's different to your question? I think the way your question is worded makes it sound like a 'survey' rather than an 'experiment' question, which is probably why you're finding it difficult to identify the variables.Hope that helps.
A: Newtonian physics gave a very good model of motion mechanics, dynamics, until the speed of light was approached. Newton's laws are now considered approximations and have been added to by Einstein's model that accounts for near light speed, relativistic dynamics. The early models accounted for limits known at the time they were developed. Later modifications added to the earlier equations rather than replaced them. Newton proposed three laws. The second law, force = mass x acceleration, was not limited. However velocity does not increase infinitely.Newton - Force = rate of change of momentumEinstein - Force = (rate of change of mass) cWhere c = speed of light.
Q: give me three kinds of bacteria that causes diseases and name me one kind of protist that causes disease and leave links that would be helpfull if you want 10pts
A: The Centers for Disease Control website has a list of diseases caused by bacteria (fungi are included in this list, so you have to pay attention).http://www.cdc.gov/nczved/dfbmd/disease_listing.htmlSome of the most familiar examples are:Bacillus anthracis causes anthraxClostridium botulinum causes botulismVibrio cholerae causes choleraPlasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax are two types of protists that cause malaria.http://science.jrank.org/pages/5548/Protista-Disease-causing-protists.html
Q: What is more important to the self; science or a temprament and attitude of science in self.Is there any science which can help the self to enable and empower itself with knowledge and wisdom of self to enable and empower the self with an attitude and a temprament of science. What is this science; where can it be known and studied; how can it be practised. Can this science also help the self to enable and empower itself with knowledge and wisdom of any type and kind. Can we also use this science to help ourselves for enabling and empowering ourselves with that knowledge and wisdom which had been the cause, purpose, and reason of the existance, presence and working of self and the religion and god of self.
A: It's either way too early in the morning for me to comprehend what you just typed, or it's utter gibberish."Is there any science which can help the self to enable and empower itself with knowledge and wisdom of self to enable and empower the self with an attitude and a temprament of science. Can this science also help the self to enable and empower itself with knowledge and wisdom of any type and kind."This hurts my head.
Q: Religion pre-decides what nature is without much evidence or understanding of what nature is. Whereas science lets the experiments and the equations decide what nature is. She's gonna come out as she is, and science is there to observe her as she is. But not religion. It pre-decides what she is. And it's been demonstrated before that religion has been wrong; and it'll be wrong again. And science is a continuous process. Science is always trying to understand her as she is. But not religion. Religion is stuck on seeing things in only religion's way. And religion never likes to be corrected. Science and religion are incompatable.
A: i disagree with almost everything you wrotefor one thing "religion" is too broad of a topic to compare it to anything
Q: Hi,Mathematics and computer science are not natural sciences, applied sciences (technology) or social sciences. So, what kind of sciences are they?I found out that they may belong to constructive sciences or formal science but I am not sure.PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER WITH LINKS.Thanks.
A: Mathematics, which is sometimes classified within a third group of science called formal science, has both similarities and differences with the natural and social sciences.[2] It is similar to empirical sciences in that it involves an objective, careful and systematic study of an area of knowledge; it is different because of its method of verifying its knowledge, using a priori rather than empirical methods.[4] Formal science, which also includes statistics and logic, is vital to the empirical sciences. Major advances in formal science have often led to major advances in the physical and biological sciences. The formal sciences are essential in the formation of hypotheses, theories, and laws,[5] both in discovering and describing how things work (natural sciences) and how people think and act (social sciences).Cognitive science is a rapidly evolving field that deals with complex cognitive processes, intelligent systems, and the emergent behavior of large-scale real-world computational systems. It is an interdisciplinary study. It draws from converging evidence and methodology of diverse fields, including psychology, physics, neuroscience, philosophy, information science, COMPUTER SCIENCE, anthropology and linguistics. The term cognitive science was coined by Christopher Longuet-Higgins in his 1973 commentary on the Lighthill report, which concerned the then-current state of Artificial Intelligence research. In the same decade, the journal Cognitive Science and the Cognitive Science Society began.good enough..?
Q: I'm writing an essay on how literature and science affect the understanding of humanity and society. I've got the literature part down pretty well, but I am absolutely stuck on the science part. I have to choose either between natural sciences or human sciences and relate it to reason, but I don't have any specific examples. Can you give me a few?
A: How science affects the understanding of humans and humanity is it can provide evidence to question the assumptions about war. The type of war fought by steel tanks and with steel guns could be countered by use of materials found in magnets if what understand from an elementary science class is correct. the united nations charter of rights and constitutions of world as electronic protections against electronic equipped missiles also serve.now I understand you might think answer poor like one asker of another simlar question thought.
